My Inspiration….

The loss of my triplet brother—whose curiosity, brilliance, and kindness shaped me deeply—continues to inspire how I live and create. Shortly after finishing law school and getting married, his life was cut short by a cruel disease: glioblastoma, which is increasingly affecting younger adults.

His passing, right at the start of COVID, made moving forward difficult. I resigned from a job I loved to care for my two young children (both under five) in March 2020. I found joy in teaching them to read and creating endless art projects—discovering, for the first time as an adult, the deeply restorative power of making art. Not just in the finished work, but in the creative process itself.

Making art taught me how to look for beauty again, even in difficult times. During that transformative period, our family made the choice to move somewhere that reflected the life we dreamed of—Vermont.

I believe art, in all its forms, invites us to play and engage creatively with the world—to express feelings or ideas that might otherwise remain locked away. We should all be so lucky….

With love, joy and some luck,
Sharone (Rawson) Bailey
